Firstly, very excited about Origins moving onto it's own standalone game, I'm still a player of the mod.
I had a couple of questions however:
1) I assume Pandemik: The Origins will be the same current size as Origins mod Taviana (if not bigger?) with most buildings being enterable? If so, the Unreal engine hasn't really done something like this before with large scale maps with many enterable buildings and object dense scenes, will performance be an issue?
2) Unreal engine seems to have network impacting issues when it comes to large player based multiplayer games, with server tick rates not really hitting above 20HZ, which obviously has negative experiences on gameplay especially in shooters in general. Will you be addressing such issues?
3) I noticed the Patreon tier packages, I would be very much willing to support the $150 Sector B Commander package, but only once as I would not be able to support that amount of money per month. Would it be possible to purchase this tier package for one month, and then switch to a lower tier after that month but still keep the rewards from the Sector B Commander tier? (i.e guaranteed access to pre-alpha, full copy of game when released etc)
Thanks and best of luck with the game!

A couple of questions!
Re: A couple of questions!
Yes it will probably be around the same size as in Origins, although many parts will be improved so the shape of the islands may differ from Origins and may not differ all that much, too early to say now. We will see once we are done with the small island. We want to open more areas where mountains were, make the mountains usable and make the map more playable. Unreal Engine 4 is a very advanced game engine allows for large maps like Taviana to work without any performance issues.Cravez wrote: ↑14 Jan 2018 11:351) I assume Pandemik: The Origins will be the same current size as Origins mod Taviana (if not bigger?) with most buildings being enterable? The server FPS is based on how the server code is written and optimized, so if we run in to such issues we will address them of course. But because all this relies on donations so far, in the pre-Alpha version there may be some issues as in any pre-Alpha game but as soon as we make some earning from the actual game we will hire professionals to fix that before the final version is released of course.Cravez wrote: ↑14 Jan 2018 11:352) Unreal engine seems to have network impacting issues when it comes to large player based multiplayer games, with server tick rates not really hitting above 20HZ, which obviously has negative experiences on gameplay especially in shooters in general.
